The following list contains links that can be found elsewhere on the site, and some besides. They mostly relate to the UK unless otherwise specified. If you know of any more that may be useful and relevant then please contact me:
but please, only links to modern Triumphs.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sprintsport Newsgroup specifically dedicated to the Sprint Sport. It is not super busy, but then there are so few Sprint Sports that isn't altogether surprising. A useful place to pose questions nonetheless and they are a friendly bunch.
http://www.preloved.co.uk/reviews/review.cfm?productID=628 This seems to be a branch of EBay so I have not actually signed up for it! The reviews are interesting though.
http://www.triumphsantacruz.com/MODELS/1998/98sprintsport.html Promotional pictures of a Red Sprint Sport. Elsewhere on the site there are Sprint Exec pictures as well.
http://www.triumph.co.uk The Triumph Official website. Depressingly slow. Some nice quality pictures of current models but in odd sizes. 800x619 is OK if a bit small to use as 'wallpaper' but 1498x1160 is a really strange size! What's wrong with 1024x768?
http://pages.cthome.net/bmantel/ and http://pages.cthome.net/bmantel/CarbMod.txt. Blake Mantel's Keihin Carb mods to his Tiger.
http://www.ps.baltimore.md.us/triumph/complete_faq.html#Q-4.1.1 The Hinckley Triumph FAQ.
Does anyone know if this has been updated? Please let me know if a more modern one is available and from where. I've been informed that this link no longer works (thanks Neil) but I'll be optimistic and leave it in. If you want a copy of the FAQ then I have one here Hinckley Triumph Complete FAQ but I've no idea how up to date it is.
http://www.triumphrat.net Triumph Rat. I've only just signed up for this site but it looks interesting. Despite the name it does NOT seem to require you are a member of RAT.
http://www.triumphnz.co.nz/northland/northindex.html New Zealand RAT 'excursion' pictures. Thanks Mark.
http://www.ratraiders.co.uk UK RAT pictures. Thanks Andy.
http://www.t300.de An interesting T300 site in German. There are some pictures of a custom Sprint Sport there. Thanks Ted.
http://www.sportbikeworld.com This is one I discovered a while ago. It seems to be primarily US based but does have a healthy selection of UK bikers contributing. It has news, opinions, silly pictures etc. and does boast a Triumph forum as well. Updated constantly.
http://rp.rac.co.uk Route planning in the UK for the lazy ones amongst us. I like it because the 'No Motorway' options etc. mean it can find interesting routes that I probably wouldn't have thought of.
Mr Fastener. Engine bolt kits and more. Mr Fastner (nuts& bolts) 01926 817207. Unfortunately their website seems to have become a porn site.
http://www.triumph-ant.co.uk/ formerly known as http://www.pontypriddmotorcycles.co.uk/ Specialist breaker of modern Triumphs. Also supplies reconditioned 885cc and 1180cc (4 cylinder) Triumph engines. Sandy supplied me with fairing panels after my mishap! Does worldwide mail order as well!
http://www.mandp.co.uk/ M and P Motorcycle Accessories.
This web site has been undergoing re-development but I haven't ordered anything for a few months.
If you order anything be sure that the https: / secure sockets / 'little padlock is locked' is operating before you enter any credit card numbers! Last time I used it this appeared to NOT BE SECURE.
The web site used to be a bit slow and was not well organised due to it's attempt at being model specific for every query. Their database index wasn't up to the job, especially for less common bikes like the Sprint Sport. Best bet is to order a catalogue from them and just order using order codes.
They were in financial trouble over winter 2001/2002 but seem to be back on track now. The brake / clutch hoses, fender extender and exhausts were ordered from here.
http://www.thefastone.co.uk MPS Motorcycle Accessories. I think I ordered my replacement rear sprocket from here. Quick service but you need a paper catalogue to use the on-line ordering!
http://www.pdq1.com PDQ Motorcycle Developments. UK distributor for K&N Filters. They do direct sales too.
http://www.carbtune.com/ Morgan Carbtune Vacuum Gauges / Manometer.
http://www.sprintmanufacturing.co.uk/ Sprint Manufacturing. This is a supplier of aftermarket parts for Triumphs such as fairings, exhausts (I believe) and stands. I've not used them personally but Nick Hill recommends them, in particular for replacement (comfy) seats.
http://www.factorypro.com/Prod_Pages/prodtriumph0900.html The specific FactoryPro web page dealing with the Triumphs with Keihin carbs. I cannot find this particular page on the site now through normal navigation, but it is still there (as the link proves) and the kits are still available.
http://www.straightlineracing.co.uk Straightline Racing. These are the UK distributors for FactoryPro jet kits for the Keihin carbed bikes. Check the FactoryPro link above to be sure you order the correct kit - the full power one for the 96PS engine in the Sprint, not the lower powered Legend and Adventurer engines.
Service from themselves is pretty good but the carrier they use for delivery is Pants. Unless you have somebody at the delivery address during normal working hours Monday to Friday then tell Straightline you want delivery by the Post Office Recorded Delivery as you can normally pick up from a local office on saturdays. Straightline need delivery signed for for insurance purposes, which is fair enough.
http://www.revsracing.co.uk Revs Racing Services. John Gaskell is a bike suspension specialist for track, road and off-road bikes based in the West Midlands in the UK. John supplied the Technoflex rear shock for the Triumph and also arranged the re-chroming and grinding of the fork stanchion tubes for my old Yamaha DT175MX. Very approachable, very helpful, and not just after your money.
